Decree No 719 “On improving public administration in the field of digital development, communications and mass communications.”

On November 20, 2020, the Russian government published Decree No 719 “On improving public administration in the field of digital development, communications and mass communications.”  The Decree terminates the authority of the Federal Agency for Communications (FAC), which handles all Russia Ministry RF equipment certifications and reassigns the authority to the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation.

The announcement states that there will be a 6-month transition period, all processes previously handled by the FAC will be switched to Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media.

The FAC will continue to handle Russian equipment registrations as usual and no Type Approval delays are expected.
